Count me in at the National Novel Writing Month at www.nanowrimo.org

Horaaay!!

Yay! I completed the third revision of my novel and it’s now ready for the next stage. I’m just so excited I finally got it done. And it couldn’t be better timing for my next project—Nanoing on November, 1 - 30.

What? Wait a minute! Did I just say that? Nanoing on Nov. 1? When I don’t even have a clue of what should my next plot is about? Am I going insane?

You see, there is nothing sane when it comes to writing fiction. I’ve been thinking of taking this challenge of writing at least a 50K novel on nanowrimo.org starting on Nov. 1 – 30 this year. Now this is really crazy. My latest finished manuscript took me almost a year to complete. Here is the chronological order of how I started my novel:

Jan – March: Brainstorming the story idea;
April: Plotting the story;
May - Aug: Start writing and
Sept - Oct: Revision.

It took me three months to set up all the ingredients—characters, setting, theme, pov, research—everything, then another month for plotting. After that, I wrote chapter by chapter in spring and all summer month (it was really sucked!). Finally I completed the first draft in August. Then I continued to revise and made more revisions until the end of October. It’s still not hundred percent perfect, but it’s ready to be shopped around.

Now on Nov. 1st come the nanowrimo. Arrggghhh….and I don’t have a plot yet…but wait! Wait! Since I am actually planning to write a sequel for my completed manuscript, then I’m all set! I already know the characters, the story and the plot. I just need to start to write it chapter by chapter. And the best part of this challenge is I don’t have to finish the novel, I just need to reach 50K at the end of Nov. 30th. Isn’t it amazing?

Wow! This is awesome.

So to the nanoer out there, let’s get ready for Nov. 1!!!

Good luck and Happy Halloween!
