What is the main reason you blog? Are you trying to generate some income? If so, how do you make it work? Since I have my blog, and now reading a lot of other bloggers’ blogs, I’ve found the majority of them want to make money blogging.
At first, my main reason for blogging was to improve my writing skill and to prepare myself for writing opportunities in the future. Now I am intrigued by all the suggestions of making money by blogging. If I am going to blog for money I have to plan for it and here are the steps I will take:
Step 1: Improve the design of my blog theme. I am currently using the “Freedom Green” by Tina Silva. This is the tough part since I am still learning how to use the Wordpress software.
Step 2: Find my niche market to blog about. I need to blog on something in high demand and yet not find many bloggers already blogging about it. I have yet to find this area. It requires a lot of research and time to get it right.
Step 3: Continue improving my writing skills. Just keep writing. Right now my interest is to document my experience in blogging and what I did to improve my blog. It is still in its experimental stage.
Step 4: Market my blog. This step is one of the most important parts to ensure that I will able to attract online visitors to visit my blog and become interested in the contents. I am gathering a lot of information on this step and when my blog is ready to be pushed to the blogsphere, I will make sure all steps are taken care of.
Step 5: Add advertisements on my blog. Currently I set up an affiliate program just to test out the theme design and how to work the template. I already have an Amazon id and google adsense.
In summary, if I want to monetize my blog, I can get a lot of info how to do it from other bloggers. What they don’t tell are the necessary steps required to follow through in order to achieve it. There are not shortcuts. It takes time and as my experience with my online boutique, persistence is the key to success.
